Who had the fastest 40-yard run in the 2023 NFL Combine?
The honor of having the fastest 40-yard run is a hotly contested item every year. Usually, it’s running backs, wide receivers and defensive backs who compete for that title. This year, we’ll see defensive backs set the benchmark on Friday. Then, on Saturday, wide receivers will make their best throw before runners close the week on Sunday.
After each day, we’ll update this section with the NFL Combine 2023’s fastest 40-yard run so far. The big question will be whether anyone can break the NFL Combine’s all-time record.
Thursday, March 02
The first day of Combine’s performances saw some impressive 40-yard times. Today, linebacker Owen Pappoe and edge Nolan Smith tied for the fastest 40-yard rush times with 4.39 seconds.
Although not the fastest of the day, defensive tackle Calijah Kancey broke the record for the fastest 40-yard run for a defensive tackle with 4.57 seconds. He surpassed future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald, who held the record with a 4.58.
