tom Brady is back for his 100th NFL season, well, season 23, but it feels like an eternity. The quarterback did and didn’t retire, however, we may have to wait a little longer until we get to see him back in action on the NFL field. The quarterback missed Thursday’s practice for personal reasons and will reportedly be out for a while.
“Doubtful”: Tom Brady to miss season opener vs. Dallas Cowboys according to HC Todd Bowles
Tampa Bay Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles told reporters that Tom Brady won’t return until after Aug. 20, which will mark the Bucs’ second preseason game against the Tennessee Titans. Brady just mentioned that he is out for personal reasons. In all likelihood, Gisele could have had something to do with this, perhaps she wanted to take an extended vacation with the kids before Tommy leaves for the next 6 months.

Tom Brady takes time off for “personal reasons.
HC Todd Bowles in his last press conference stated “Tom excused himself today, he’ll be back sometime after Tennessee. He’s going to deal with some personal stuff”. According to reports, Brady had hinted to the HC a while back, “This is something we talked about before training camp started. We allotted this time because I wanted to come in and have chemistry with the guys and go through two weeks of training camp. Knowing that he wasn’t going to play the first two games, I didn’t want to take reps away from Blaine(Gaberto) and Kyle(back, as well as Ryan Griffin, as far as these next two games,” Todd Bowles went on to add.
While Brady is out, the backup quarterbacks will be able to get some reps and showcase their talents. The Bucs have had a joint practice with the Miami Dolphins the past two days and will play their first preseason game on Saturday night. Bowles had previously stated that Tom will not be a part of this game.
Bowles didn’t reveal too much regarding his quarterback’s absence, but the coach stated that if Tom needed some time, the Bucs would accommodate him under any circumstances. “It’s something he needs to handle, we trust him. We talked about it.
He also dismissed any concerns regarding Brady’s status for the team’s season opener against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 11. “Obviously, there’s always going to be doubted, but I have a pretty high level of confidence, yes.” Bowles concluded. The Bucs have had a training camp that is far from smooth.
On top of that, Mike Evans, the team’s top wide receiver, has been dealing with a hamstring injury and Russell Gage had to leave practice due to a leg injury earlier this week.
Hopefully, all is well with Tom Brady and his family, we can’t wait to see the quarterback in action with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers!
