The Netflix documentary production entitled “Untold: Johnny Football” revealed surprising details about the life of the former quarterback, who after finishing the 2015 season in the NFL, confessed that he began to plunge into a spiral of addictions to the daily consumption of oxycodone and cocaine, in addition to confessing that in 2016, that after being cut by the Browns, He acquired a gun and made an attempt on his own life.

Manziel talks about his suicide attempt

In his own words, Manziel recounted how he plunged into a life of excess, spending money without limits, and contemplating the idea of taking his own life. Fortunately, at that fateful moment, the weapon missed:

“I had planned to do everything I wanted to do at that point in my life, spend as much money as I could, and then my plan was to take my own life.”

“I wanted to get as bad as humanly possible as far as it made sense, and that made it seem like an excuse and an outlet for me.

“To this day I don’t know what happened, but the gun jammed,” Johnny Manziel said.
