WHAT TIME IS THE VMAS 2022 ON TODAY?

The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet/preshow coverage begins today (August 28) at 6:30 p.m. ET, followed by the main show at 8:00 p.m. ET. MTV, BET, CMT, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, Paramount, TV Land, The CW, and VH1 will broadcast the 2022 VMAS.

Who Are the MTV Video Music Awards Nominees?

Nikki Minaj, the 2022 VMA Video Vanguard Award recipient, will be honored for her “exceptional accomplishments and significant effect on a music video and popular culture.” Beyoncé, Janet Jackson, Madonna, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, and Missy Elliott are among the previous female winners of the award.

The Worldwide IcoN Award, which celebrates an artist or band whose “unparalleled career, continuous impact, and influence have maintained a unique degree of global success in music and beyond, leaving an indelible stamp on the music scene,” will go to the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Where to Watch the MTV VMA Awards 2022 and How to Watch the Show

MTV’s 2022 VMA Awards will be place on August 28 in New Jersey’s Prudential Center in Newark, with the stars arriving on the red carpet beginning at 6.30 p.m. ET.

Doja Cat, Harry Styles, and Jack Harlow lead the nominations with eight each. Kendrick Lamar and Lil Nas X are close behind with seven nominations apiece.

Billie Eilish, a Grammy winner, has five nominations, including Best Longform Video. Drake, BTS, The Weeknd, Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, and Taylor Swift also have five nominations.

In a departure from convention, Nicki Minaj, LL Cool J, and Harlow will co-host the ceremony. The ceremony is generally hosted by a single individual, but this year will be a bit different.
