Week 5 of the NFL regular season not only left the crushing victory of the San Francisco 49ers, the best team in the league so far but also some injured players that you will not be able to use in your NFL Fantasy heading into Week 6.
Justin Jefferson – Minnesota Vikings
The season for the Vikings could turn into a nightmare with the injury of their best player Justin Jefferson.
The player suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday’s game against the Chiefs and could be placed on injured reserve and would miss at least the next four games.
Minnesota will have to deal without Jefferson against the Bears, 49ers, and the Tackers and the Falcons in a season with a losing record of 1-4.
Matt Milano – Buffalo Bills
The Bills defensive player was out of action in the first quarter of the game against the Jaguars after his knee suffered the consequences of the pressure exerted on Trevor Lawrence.
His knee was caught in the sea of players and was supported by the team’s medical staff before being taken to the tent for a more thorough review. Subsequently, Milano was taken to the locker room and did not return to the match that Jaguars won 20-25.
So far this season, Matt Milano has recorded 27 tackles, one interception and two passes defended.
De’Von Achane – Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins running back was injured in his team’s win over the New York Giants in Week 5 and the outlook for his recovery does not look encouraging.
According to NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the RB will miss several weeks with the knee injury. The rookie racked up 151 rushing yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.
Miami will have a complicated schedule without Achane before his Week 10 break: hosting Carolina, traveling to Philadelphia, hosting New England, and traveling to Kansas City.
James Conner – Arizona Cardinals
Another running back who suffered a knee injury in Week 5 is Conner, who was hurt in his game against the Bengals that Arizona lost 20-34.
Conner will be out of action for several weeks and has already been placed on the Cardinals’ injured reserve list. RB will miss at least 4 games: vs. Rams, Seahawks, Ravens and Browns. He is expected to return for Week 10 against the Falcons.
Given the loss of James Conner, the Cardinals team signed Tony Jones, former Saints player, so as not to run out of options in that position.
Leighton Vander – Dallas Cowboys
Not only did the Cowboys have to deal with San Francisco’s beating at the Bay, but they also finished the Week 5 game without player Leighton Vander for at least a month.
The linebacker sprained his neck in the fourth quarter when he collided with Micah Parsons. Vander’s recovery will take at least four weeks and at most six, so he is expected to be placed on injured reserve and the Cowboys will play without him against the Chargers, Rams, Eagles, and Giants.
Dallas will lose its second-best linebacker with 30 tackles and a turnover.
