Ajax v Union Berlin takes place on Thursday at 5:45pm (UK time).
The Europa League is back with the knockout round play-off stages, pitting the Champions League dropouts with the group stage runners-up for a spot in the last 16.
Ajax is a Champions League dropout having finished third in their group behind Napoli and Liverpool with just two wins from their six games — both coming against last-placed Rangers. But things have changed since then and Alfred Schreuder has been replaced by Johnny Heitinga, who is currently unbeaten in four, with four wins.
Union Berlin, meanwhile, finished second in their Europa League group behind Union Saint-Gilloise, but ahead of Braga, with four wins and two defeats from their six matches. The German side is also on a six-game winning run across all competitions since returning from the winter break.

Ajax team news
Steven Bergwijn missed Ajax’s win over RKC Waalwijk with an unknown injury but is yet to be officially ruled out of this game. Heitinga will be hoping he can call upon the Dutch forward, but he has strength in depth should Bergwijn not be available.
Definitely on the sidelines for Ajax are Ahmetcan Kaplan and Youri Baas, with Florian Grillitsch returning to the bench at the weekend after injury.
Union Berlin team news
Union Berlin will be without Christopher Trimmer and Janik Haberer for their trip to Amsterdam with the pair suspended for an accumulation of yellow cards in the group stage – both picking up their third in the final match. Forward Andras Schafer is injured and joins Jakob Busk on the sidelines, but the latter is unavailable anyway, not registered for the Europa League.
Also ineligible for Union Berlin among their regular faces are Timo Baumgartl, Milos Pantovic and Paul Seguin.
