The Americans lost their semifinal on Wednesday to Canada, 6-2. Logan Cooley and Kenny Connors scored in the first 10:30 of the game to put the United States up 2-0 before Canada stormed back for the win.

The U.S. peppered Canadian goaltender Thomas Milic with 45 shots but 17-year-old goalie Trey Augustine faltered in the second period, allowing three scores.

Sweden led 1-0 just 1:39 into the second period when Ludvig Jansson scored but Czechia tied the game with 39 seconds left in regulation with an extra attacker on the ice and won it 9:10 into overtime.

Cooley leads the Americans with six goals and 12 points in the tournament while Jansson has four goals and eight points to top Sweden’s roster.
