Austin McBroom and AnEsonGib will finally do battle at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles on Saturday night with the world of YouTube boxing watching.
The biggest star in space KSI has called for a big-money showdown against the winner of the fight in January, even if it’s his close friend and former sparring partner Gib. The pair are two massive players in the British YouTube scene having transitioned into boxing and could make for an interesting meeting if he can beat McBroom this weekend.
However, that will prove to be easier said than done with the American having been training intensely over the past year since beating Bryce Hall in June 2021. He was being talked about as a potential opponent for KSI’s ring return, but priced himself out of the fight and will need to prove his worth with a big showing this weekend.
The event marks the controversial return of the Social Gloves banner, having struggled to meet their exorbitant payouts last summer. Adam Saleh, who was due to face Patrice Evra this year, takes on Landon McBroom on an undercard that also features Blueface and Leveon Bell.
Here’s all you need to know about Saturday night’s fight…
When is Social Gloves 2: Austin McBroom vs AnEsonGib?
The return of Social Gloves boxing will take place on September 10 at the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles. McBroom and Gib have both been granted professional licenses, given the more restrictive rules in California, and only a small portion of the 22,000-capacity football ground will be used.
The last Social Gloves event took place in Miami, Florida, where rules are considerably more relaxed in terms of headgear and rounds for sub-novice level boxing. It remains to be seen what rules will be imposed on other fights, although Landon McBroom and Adam Saleh appear to be licensed professionals.
What time will Austin McBroom vs AnEsonGib start in the UK?
The event will likely begin at 11 pm in the UK with the main event ring walks significantly later due to the size of the fight card. There is a lengthy undercard built up of five Bash Boxing ‘Next Gen’ professionals before the pay-per-view event begins with five influencer fights. All of the professional fights on the card are to take place over four or six rounds of three minutes including McBroom vs Gib which is six.
How to watch via TV and live stream
The event is being broadcast on Social Gloves’ own PPV service Socialgloves.tv. Fans can use an app on iPhone or Android to watch, as well as streaming on their laptop or casting to their television. The PPV price has been set at $25, which is around £21.50. The fights can also be streamed on FITE by visiting their website here.

Austin McBroom: “Sometimes I can’t take him seriously because I’m not sure if he’s acting or being for real. To be honest, I feel like he has experience but he’s just not on my level. He’s got an awkward style, unathletic and played video games, didn’t do a push-up until he was 21. He hasn’t fought anybody with all that experience.”
AnEsonGib: “He’s a D1 athlete who takes up sports quickly but what he doesn’t have and what money can’t buy is experience. My experience is vast, I’ve been in the game since the beginning of YouTube boxing. He’s here, I’m guessing, to emulate what KSI and the Pauls have done. I don’t believe he’s fallen in love with the sport like I have or that he has the obsession that I have.”
